How we handle your privacy

This page is a plain-English summary. The full privacy policy and terms apply, and they prevail if anything here differs.

What we collect from customers

Your email address for your account, your first name and mobile number, and the details of each booking: date, times, address, event type, guest count and any notes. Card details are handled by our payment processor; Luxx never sees or stores your full card number. We also keep the messages you send through the app.

What we collect from performers

Your stage name, contact details, home base, services, rates, availability and photos. For verification we record that your ID was sighted and its type, not a copy of the ID or your legal name. Your location is collected only when you check in at a job, when the app confirms you're still at a job past the booked finish, and when you raise an SOS. There is no continuous tracking.

Identity checks

To keep everyone safe, every customer and performer verifies their mobile by SMS code and confirms their identity with a photo of a government ID and a selfie. Our verification partner, Didit, checks the document and selfie and holds the images under its retention policy; Luxx never receives or stores them. We keep only the result, whether you're 18 or over, the type of document and your verified mobile. Each mobile can be verified on one account only.

Why we use it

To run bookings: matching customers with performers who are free, working out travel fees, placing and releasing card holds, and showing both sides what is owed. To keep people safe: check-in, SOS, conduct reports and blocks. To meet our legal and tax obligations. We only send marketing messages to people who have opted in, and every one includes a way to unsubscribe.

Who we share it with

Performers who accept a booking see the customer's first name, the booking details and the address. They never see the customer's mobile number. Customers see a performer's stage name, profile and approved photos, never their home base. We share data with the service providers that run the platform, such as payment processing, hosting and messaging, some of which may store data outside Australia. We disclose information to police or emergency services when the law requires it or someone's safety is at risk. We don't sell personal information.

How long we keep it

We keep booking and payment records for as long as the law requires for tax and dispute purposes. Other information is deleted or de-identified when it is no longer needed, or when you ask and we're able to.

Access and deletion

You can ask to see the personal information we hold about you, correct it, or have it deleted, through the contact page. We'll confirm your identity, tell you what we must keep and why, and act on the request within a reasonable time.

Discretion

Messages stay inside the app, and phone numbers, email addresses and links are removed from them automatically. Any text or email we send is a verification code or a short note to check your dashboard, sent as Platinum Digital, with no booking details. A booking is visible only to the customer, the performers who accept it and the Luxx team.
